Our grade 2 telling time worksheets help students learn to read a traditional (analog) clock-face. The worksheets begin with ”whole hours” (3 o’clock, 4o’clock, etc) and progress to half fours, quarter hours and 5 and 1 minute intervals. We also cover the concepts of am & pm, units of time, and elapsed time. Finally, we introduce the days of the week and months of the year.
As with most skills, it’s best to start teaching goal setting early. Although parents are perhaps the best source of skill-building and development for their children, it’s vital to have some goal setting material in students’ curriculum as well. Learning how to set goals in school and seeing goal setting modeled by peers and teachers is a great way to encourage effective goal setting in children.
These Math Flash Cards are great for classroom practice for telling time. You may select from different time increments and the size of the clocks that will be produced. These Math Flash Cards are appropriate for any age group requiring practice in telling time.
